Why Local ?
Meet Rachel Burgoon
I get asked in almost every conversation about our farm and business if I have always been “into flowers” and the answer is NO! I am originally from Roanoke, Virginia where I grew up showing horses. I have a B.S. in Business Administration and a minor in equine studies. Then I moved to Wenatchee in 2010 with my husband for his work.
Flowers sort of fell into my life once our family bought an acre outside of town in 2020. As a family we love to be outdoors and a big garden was always part of our vision but once we planted just a couple of dahlias tubers I knew we had something special and Feathers & Flowers was born.
I love growing flowers and learning about new varieties. I enjoy the challenge of figuring out what grows well in our climate and pushing the boundaries just a little to get the most out of our growing space. What I didn’t know I would love as much as I do is sharing flowers with others! I love that what I grow can bring such joy and brightness into someone’s day.
